Lots of reasons, but wouldn't want to put any newbies off, giving it ago.;)

Are you sure you don't want to stay long enough to get your citizenship then you can come back anytime if you change your mind?

Just a thought.

Cheers

Weve considered all options and to be honest, we are sick of battling the system, and having all doors closed in are faces. The main issue is jobs and money. Top and bottom of it is we carn't afford to stay, without being able to earn better money and the powers that be have blocked us at every angle. We didn't come to be worse off, and if we have to live somewhere we dont like:blink: We think the Island is stunning, we have looked at N/S in which i actually wouldn't mind, but carn't get any response to job vacancies:frown:
We were on dbl the wages in the UK plus lots of extra's and OH in the space of 2 wks has already been offered 5 jobs all with great packages, his old boss has been on the blower when he heard the whispers and OH can walk straight back in to what he left but with more.
We are not closing the door on Canada, if we decide its right we will still have 2-3 years to return and maybe be in a better position.
Its so soul distroying when you put so much into something, to be then made to feel your not good enough.
Its been a big eye opener for us, being here. I refuse to Knock Canada, but for us right now england has all the plus's.

There you made me do it:lol: nicely i hope:sneaky:

The trouble sans is that it's not what you know on the island but who you know. Have been looking for a while myself in Nanaimo, all my experience in the UK counts for very little but if I have a friend or relative in the company then no problem. As for coming here we have no regrets but just wish somebody would take a chance. Need a few bookmakers here then maybe someone will take a gamble.

OH has to travel back and forth to Victoria daily, because thats the only job he's been offered here. His boss is a really nice guy, sth African and has resently employed a guy from Germany and fetched him over on W/P. But with the 4 hr travel and no over time and low wage
