I've got over that now. I'm car mad, as you may have read in another posts, so planning car events in Scotland was always a gamble. However, I have been off-roading for about 7 years, and off course the weather for that matters not a jot
Hmm, I can't recall where it is you're thinking of moving to but you may be a little disappointed here. The convertible car driving season here lasts for 4 months a year if you're lucky, even if you find a good day in the winter you really need winter tires when it is very cold or you have very little traction (I could get wheelspin in 5th gear in my Lotus) and you run the risk of huge rocks being hurled at you by other vehicles. Out East they throw so much salt on the road your car has disintegrated by the time you reach your destination. I can't imagine offroading in -30c with 6 ft of snow on the ground is much fun either.

I live in Saskatchewan which has some of the worst winters in Canada. I don't mind them. I'd rather have -40 and bright sunshine than a grim day looking through the fog to catch a glimpse of the North Sea.
