Default A thank yo on the ravine problem.

I've put this on the 'ravine' thread but in case it gets lost among the other threads...

I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank you guys for the feedback on the 'white house on the ravine' problem.

Very much appreciated views and solid arguments for backing out of the sale from Harrased_Dad, gryphea, MB-Realtor, printer and anyone else I've missed out, thanks a lot people

Showed my wife your posts and she's much happier we made the right decision, so she's back in a good mood now Living in a hotel room with a depressed woman I can do without at the moment.

steve_p, those concrete blocks are to stop cars going over the ravine, as you guessed. Don't know who put them there but they are to be removed when the house is sold, if ever.

BUYER BEWARE INDEED!

I got the chills down my spine when I saw the pictures
and the description of the ravines.I felt strong urge to warn you.
The recent slides in North Van. are still fresh in my mind.
There will be the right house you both.

Glad everything is sorted now so to speak. There's nothing worse than the wife being in a bad mood in such a small confined space is there????

We are just out on a walk.

Still too damn hot.

When you do find your dream house you will get that warm feeling inside and it will just feel right. It certainly did for me and I looked at loads before I found 'the one'.

Glad to hear your wife has cheered up. Those railway sleepers looked a bit iffy.

Sure your dream house is just around the corner

Hi Howard,
The realtor we're using is great, she was recommended to us by a Canadian friend. She has been very straight forward and pointed out potential problems with various properties, including the ravine house, which we stupidly ignored.

We have much more trust in her now we've been running round looking at properties. She comes round to pick up at the hotel every day and on all occasions there was another realtor driving while she explained things about each property. She has drinks and food in a cold box in the trunk for us to have while we're out, and each trip has lasted about 4 hours, she must be using masses of petrol becase we're looking west, east and south of Ottawa.

She has good back up from her staff and is in constant touch with her office and sometimes a new property would come up and we'd make a detour to see it. Couldn't praise her enough. (No she's not paying me to say this)

Her contact details are:-
Jackie Laurin, Keller Williams Realty inc.
Ottawa ON KIS 4E6
Tel. 613 236 5959 ext. 193
Fax. 613 786 2441

Email: [email protected] (it really is spelt with a 'e' not a 'i' in lauren).

Seeing a couple of houses around Cumberland today, much more house for your buck than Kanata and the east, and Orleans nearby has EVERYTHING you need for a family.

Steve.
