Hiya, I can't comment on the TWP bit, we came in PNP through arranged employment and start to finish (PR card in hand), it took us 18 months, stuff though.
You can make anything work if you have a step up/down converter (they are about $150/$200, but TBH major electricals are not that expensive and also, there might be an issue with the safety standards being different country to country.
And car....yes, there are sooo many used cars for sale, and you ideally need one with the appropriate equoptment (like 4 wheel drive etc...)
One other thing, you'll pay for everything you ship, be brutal and honest with yourself, if there is something you have not used for 6 moths THROW IT AWAY, otherwise, it will just sit in a box for the next 2 years before you accept that you should not have paid to ship and thrown it away it in the first place!!
We filled 2 builders skips with perfectly good stuff, infact the gypo's came and took stuff out of the skip!!
But trust me, if you don't need it/have not used it/don't know where it is even if you wanted to use it - THROW IT AWAY!!
Any other info you need, please just ask.
Chris.

Freecycle is also a good option for stuff you want to get rid of, saves landfill!

Not wishing to put a damper on things, but don't forget a TWP is only 'temporary'. Making long term commitments here such as loans and mortgages is high risk on a TWP, as one poster is currently finding out. They got laid off 6 months into 2 year WP. Employment can be fickle and layoffs are not uncommon in tough economic times.

Hi i think once you have LMO you are virtually guaranteed TWP, the LMO is the hard thing to get.
Also you can get TWP at airport when you land, loads have done it with no hassle, we did it and have also gone to American border twice to flagpole.
where are you heading?
Best of luck with it all

It depends on when you intend to fly and how long you can live without big electrical itmes and the car for. If you think that you can ge rid of them quickly then wait until you get confirmation, or maybe sort out buyers that are happy to wait a few weeks. Depends on your circumstances.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Hi Anne,
Heading to North west Edmonton, the company that is going to employ me have worked really hard for the LMO,have had to endure lots of red tape,
why did you have to go to the border and what is flagpole,
excuse my lack of knowledge on that bit,but at a guess is it something to do with PR ?
As i said in my other post i dont want to get rid of car then get turned down for TWP,after the set backs with the LMO just trying to cover myself.
thanks

Hi we had to flagpole because oh got let go after 8 weeks, we were lucky to find another firm who got an lmo, so hence going to border to activate it.
Good luck with process, as i said the lmo is the hard thing to get, i think you are nearly assured twp after that.
