Default Temporary Medical Insurance For Slightly Older Types..

My lovely in-laws are looking at spending up to 6 months of the year in Canada after we immigrate. The only thing that is terrifying them at the moment is the cost of medical insurance.

What have other people done with regards to medical insurance over longer periods? Is it cheaper to take it out within Canada? Are there any companies that deal with this specifically?

Any help much appreciated!

emily
