We moved in with the inlaws for 3 months before we left, and I had to register there. When we were emigrating I went down and asked for a copy of my records. First they flat out refused and said it was against the law to give me my own records, then they told me it would be 150GBP. When I argued that, they told me I needed a court order. At that point I politely told them to shove it. When I got to Canada I entered my relevant history and approximate dates into an EMR, exported my record and gave it to my doctor here to import, so he didn't have to waste time taking a history.
