A banks draft is guaranteed funds and does not need time to clear. The worst FX rate is for cash, cheque or draft is better. An FX broker will give you the best rate for a direct deposit.

It takes forever there to clear cheques and and even a bankers draft although it'll clear here ok, I wouldn't bet on it clearing out there straight away.
