Summer Camp / Kids Activities - Calgary
Just thinking ahead .....
Arriving in July, me and the two kids (8 and 6), no school, no friends - could be a long summer!
Anyone any suggestions for clubs / camps / activities where my kids could have fun and possibly make some friends?
We'll be living in the Strathcona Park area of Calgary (not even sure if these things tend to be neighbourhood specific)

Hello there - how exciting, what a great time to be coming to Calgary. We stayed in the Strathcona Park area when we first arrived - really nice area.
We also arrived in July so had the same dilemma. The boys went into camps at the Y, the Telus world of science run some interesting camps as well as the University.
Have a look at these links - might be worth considering booking ahead - they fill up really quickly!

I can't suggest any Calgary camps for boys but I will say that in our experience the camps here are well run and keep the kids busy. My daughter has never come home saying it was boring - something she always did in the UK.

HI there....
Welcome to Calgary in advance!!
You could also have a look at www.butterfieldacres.com. B/Acres is a small 'farm/petting park in NW Calgary. They do great summer camps for all ages. My 4 yr old did a week last year and is doing another week this year. He loved it....You could also look up Calgary's Child online - bi monthly newspaper full of info on kids including summer camps - calgaryschild.com.
Good luck and if you need any help/advice feel free to PM

For girls, Girl Guides runs summer camps open to both guides non-guides.
Also, check out YMCA Camp Hector.
