its been that long ive forgotten! I left school at 16, so will it be 7 years for primary and 5 years for secondry school?

Thanks

I guess the main question is...........how many years did YOU attend school for, from start to finish? ;)

Normally i'd say it would be 12 years if you finish at 16 but couldn't comment on your own situation.

Re: Stupid question!

Depends on your age, as I was in the last year that went up to senior school at 12, as of September 1990 they went up at 11 years old I think.....

I'm not 100% sure but I think they have changed the law in England that children have to stay in some sort of education system until they are 18 years old from this year, be that college, 6th Form or an apprenticeship???

Re: Stupid question!

so my next question is, ive attended for 12 years @ school done 2 years electronics @ college, and done a 2 years city & guilds electricians course @ college/trade school,

so will it be the following from the CIC web site:

"Obtained a two-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and completed at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies"

Cheers guys

If your electronics course was full time, then i would say yes because this would increase your full time education to 14 years and you have the C&G certificate.

Still, better double check because that's just my opinion based on the info in this thread so i could be talking poo.

Re: Stupid question!

The reason i was asking thoes questions were, i sent off a FSW app a few weeks back to Sydney but i only realised today when i was looking through my application (my copy that i photocopied!), that i had entered the wrong number of years for my schooling.

With the new application i am sending should i write some kind of letter with it to explain why i am resending it or just send it as it is?

Thanks for the help
Kamshaft

Update:

I havnt recieved anything from cic saying that my application was filled out wrong as they only recieved it 2 weeks ago, so i was wondering if i should send in one now or wait till i get confirmation that it is filled in wrong, hope that makes sence!

They haven't yet & hopefully they won't as not all kids want education until 18 - some want to stay at home all day and watch day time TV and others want to start work. Education for education sake seems to be a way of reducing unemployment figures.
