Default State Schools In BC?

Just would like some sort of idea.

I've researched afew schools around Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge Area (where we're most probably going to be moving to), and I will be visiting afew of them on our trip over, to get a real feel etc.

But, I was wondering just out of interest, if you could tell me your opinions on the standard of schools in BC and how you think they compare to the UK.

My kids have been lucky enough to attend a good high standard school in our area and I hope that we will be lucky enough to find a school that is just as good and is not already full.

Thanks.

Our kids are doing just fine, one is A honors the other B honors. It depends as much on the quality of the teacher and the attitude and aptitude of the student as much as the learning environment. Graduation is at age 18 adn of a much higher standard than the 16 year old leaving year in the UK, although perhaps not as high as the A level student. Schools can also change with a new principal. In our area the school board introduced a traditional school into what was a mediocre school and there is now a long waiting list.
