St. George's Day is meaningless in Canada.

Why would you expect anything?

All the English people I have ever known have been proud and have always celebrated St Georges Day, I would assume even though the people here jumped ship and came to canada, they would still celebrate the things they did when they were there??

When did this start happening?

St. George's Day had no meaning in England when I left in 1963.

It does have meaning, obviously depending on who you are, and who you socialize with. 1963 was along time ago remember, things change, although it is starting to become popular again....

Perhaps it is but St. George is the patron saint of England and you're now in Canada, so unfortunately for you, you can't expect any sort of celebration.

But hey it's my birthday tomorrow so if you want hoist a pint there you go.
