Its a valid point to make that although this site is called "British Expats", its actually become an international resource of sorts, and for many people English is not a first language (Just like Canada in fact), so proper spelling and sentence structure (to the best of your ability) not only makes it more likely that your queries and concerns will be addressed, but it makes it easier for everyone else too.

Do yourself and us a favour and try and be as clear as possible. Many of the helpful and experienced posters here likely wont have the patience to figure out what it is you want, and will simply move on to the next post.

Brown Recluse? No, it's too cold. They do get into southern Ontario and Quebec, but not Saskatchewan.

Black widows? Possible. Saskatoon is pretty much at the extreme north of their range. They don't come into the house and they try to avoid human contact so they are not really a problem. If you are concerned then wear gloves when you are doing things like taking logs out of the wood stack, or clearing stuff that has been sitting in a garden shed/garage for a while.

Wow everyone on this thread is awfully harsh. I type proper for the most part but thats a prefrence in choice, just because someone else can't doesn't mean we need to make a huge deal out of it. Kurt I can understand your typing just fine, probably because i'm only 20 and I get the whole texting slang stuff. Anyways on the topic of your question, I don't think there is too much to worry about for venemous spiders in SK. I live in AB but I have been to SK several times, and come home alive with no harm from spiders, and i've slept in a tent out there in the wilderness. So you'll be alright Kurt!

Hi - I understand your teenage language - because I was forced to learn it by my younger brother!!

I also live in Saskatchewan, moved here last January from Northern Ireland - no dangerous spiders there. As far as I am aware there are none here either -I have never ever heard of anyone talking of poisonous spiders - of course that doesn't necesscarily meant there aren't any, but its not like a lot of areas in Oz where they come into your house and you have to shake out your shoes etc.

As MarkG said - there are surprisingly few spiders - tell her she should be more concerned by the mosquitoes...lol...and the winters are nothing to be sniffed at for that mattter...recently I have been having suicidal thoughts...that's just a joke btw...but its hard to cope with it being so cold and darn wintery even at this stage in March. Especially when your family back in the old country insist on showing you around outside at the luscious green fields and blooming trees and gardens full of flowers

If you see the "Snakes" thread you will see that I am petrified of them, although we only get harmless garter snakes..have only seen two last Summer, unfortunately one in my garden and the other in my neighbours - but you dont have an issue with those so you'll be fine.

I understand what your saying, like yes people are less likely to reply because the way is posts are formated. But alot of the posts on the first page arn't and much helpful as they are condesending and rude put downs.
