Hi
Is there anyone who can help me?
Does anyone know how you can transfer a B.Sc degree in speech & Language into a Canadian equivalent. It's looking like you need a Masters to practice which is another 2 years studying to cover the same modules that I've just studied!!!!

Hi
I've looked into this as I currently work with children with speech and language delays as an assistant, and wondered if I could easily upgrade my degree to help me become a Speech Pathologist (as they like to call them here). Turns out you have to have a masters degree and not every province has universities that offer a relevant masters course. Alberta has no courses for example, the nearest is in Vancouver, and a friend of mine has just moved there for that very course. I think there may be a couple of universities further east, including Halifax I believe - but I'm not totally sure.
Hope this helps

Alberta is crying out for Speech Therapists......
We pay $120 per hour, so it may pay you to do your masters!!!
Good luck.

My elder sister got a first class degree in speech therapy many years ago from Newcastle University. Her first job paid 1000 pounds a year. Good money at the time, but I shouldn't think it's worth getting out of bed these days for $120 an hour.

If it's a serious comment, it's a stupidly insulting one.

The Mrs has a cousin who is a Speech Language Pathologist. She did her masters down in Texas somewhere, incurring $xtyk of debt before she started work this year.
