Default soft landing - finances??

I'll be arriving in Vancouver in October for a soft landing - that is assuming BA don't cancel my flight , my return trip has already been changed .

Am I right in thinking that I don't need to declare my financial position to them in October for Canadian tax purposes but will do when I land as a settler?

I'm just wondering if I need to start my UK pensions before I go in October to benefit from the UK tax free allowances or they can wait until I move to settle.

Thanks in advance.
