Snowboarding!
#1
Well, While we're waiting, we've decided to learn to snowboard!
We've taken the lessons and now we've booked the vacation - Banff in early March! Woohoo!
We're going to get "fitted" over here and decide on which boards we want, but we're intending to buy the board'n'bindings over there (less $$$$$)
, but I can't find any shops in Banff who I can Email to arrange them to have the goods we want for our arrival!
Sportchek don't even have an email address that I can contact to arrange this!
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how I could arrange this?
Thanks as always!
Kenny

Unless you are an expert and know just what you want, I seriously wouldnt buy from sportchek anyway, unless you value the advice of a 14 year old on minimum wage and a commision
Ive never regretted talking to the local specialist ski shop before I bought stuff. Finding stuff in stock in banff should not be an issue...that's what they do there, ski and shop. It may cost a little more, but it will be worth it to have the equipment thats right for you.
If you really want to try and do it remotely did you try this?

The yellow pages listing often has email and web addresses, or else you can google a bit from there to get to places like this

My 2c???
Abominable and UNLTD. Both on Banff Avenue, both will offer you excellent advise and in one case (PM me if you want to know which) will probably offer you EXTRA discount over the sale price that (as Mo rightly points out) will be in effect in March.

The OP probably wont have a motor (I'm assuming its a Package Holiday). So the possible saving would be offset by transport costs to the Big Smoke (oops was forgetting Calgary is now smoke free

Yes the online stores in Canada leave a lot to be desired! Sometimes I order from the States for equipment I can't find here but half of them don't deliver to Canada because of the customs hassle!
Snow is AMAZING in Whistler right now. Hope it's as good for you in Banff. Have fun!

On a recent trip to Banff I bought new snowboard boots from Unltd and new bindings from Moutain Magic (http://www.mountainmagic.com)
I really liked Mountain Magic as a shop, have a look at their website.
