I know nothing of their provenance, save that of the cactus. Once, long ago, the cactus was purchased because it closely resembled my genitals.

Well, I'm sorry Canada, but the biggest snow I ever saw was in WALES (Cardiff) 1980 when it snowed for 36 hours straight and completely buried my poor little mini for over a week! The roads didn't become driveable for about 2 weeks, when the army came with trucks and cleared the X's snow away, dumping it into the sea!

We awoke to find out bath filling up as the outflow was frozen and the tap dripped (student house). There was also an interesting little pile of snow on the lid of the toilet, which apparently had blown in through a crack in the wall. (the snow had, not the toilet!)

I remember putting on all my clothes, including my trenchcoat (in vogue in them days) and leg warmers (ditto) and going to bed to keep warm! I had a little electric fire in my room (no central heating!) and it needed 50p pieces to run it!

We were lucky apparently! Some of our friends were unable to use their loos at all, as their outfalls froze completely, .... and some had snow collect in their roof-space which then melted and brought down their ceilings!
