My dog chased one the year before last, got sprayed right in the face. Natrually he came wimpering back to me and proceded to get some of the yuk on me. I had to strip off, put all my clothes into a black bin liner and head for the shower while the wife shampooed, tomato juiced and vanilla essenced the dog.

The trouble is that I don't think he learned his lesson, he still chases, cats, other dogs, musk rats, and pretty much every other critter he sees.

During the spring/summer months I am always on the lookout for skunks around dusk, because after smelling the stench of freshly released skunk glands right next to me, I don't want to smell it again.

"Hmmm, must be a smelly bitch".
