Short-term rentals Toronto area
Can anyone who landed in or near Toronto recommend any short-term accommodation in the area?
Me and my partner need a place for a month or so while we get our PR cards and sort out a motorhome for our big trip, so we don't need anything flash (yes, I've seen the $5000+ apartment websites, not quite what I had in mind...) I've been looking on sublet.com, not sure whether this is any good or not?
Any pointers towards mates-with-basement-suites, roach-free rooms or comfy sofas would be greatly received!
BTW, we are hoping to be heading there at the end of April. Hurrah.

If you don't need to be right in Toronto, check out corporatesuites.ca. They are in Burlington, about 40 min west of Toronto. The apartments are in a good area of Burlington, close to the lake, the GO station (local commuter rail to Toronto), a big mall, etc. We actually lived there about 12 years ago when we moved to Ontario from BC.

We stayed at the Cromwell Suites, on the edge of Downtown last year - nice apartments that are available for short or longer term lets. Very handy for transit etc.

The other place that might be worth checking out is http://www.sabbaticalhomes.com/. I've never used them, but they do have some short term lets.

If it's only the two of you (i.e., no kids), you could always consider staying at University of Toronto. They rent out dorm rooms after classes end in April and tend to be quite cheap. I'm not sure how tolerable it would be for an entire month, but different colleges have different facilities and you might be able to find some apartment-style accommodations.
