Vancouver does have one or two shops, you don't have to go south for "Real" shopping.

I've not felt the need to leave Kamloops for Vancouver to shop, never mind visit Seattle. The internet's far more convenient.

I do generally leave calgary to shop either and infact have never been to seattle but my calgarian friends rave about how much better it is......american prices vs the canadian in those outlets.
I do admit though, when visiting the states i cant resist those malls....so i do see the point

One way is a Customs Broker who has a US address to ship to, who then ships it to you.
But it is a 3rd party who has to be paid adding to the overall cost.

If you're talking about clothes, then we're on different wavelengths. I can get all I need locally without a 4hr trip to Vancouver or beyond. In terms of other 'stuff', I've purchased a pool table, a whole variety of household goods, electrical items, machinery parts, books etc etc from Canadian, US and European websites. Never had an issues with Canada being an unusual place to ship to.

What websites are you using for general purchases here? Like I said, internet shopping for me is a big let down over here. Well it's not, I'm sorted now I'm so close to the US, but in Canada it's rubbish I mean

and while you sit in the backup at Blaine you will suddenly remember you don't have $6 US for an I94 visa waiver

There really needs to be a decent online food shopping site. I know there is Grocery Gateway but the prices and selection are both terrible.

Hi,
I have read some threads about shopping in Vancouver. most of them are very worrying, like there aren't many choices, the fashion is 20 years behind, everything is expensive, internet shoppings sucks, and some of my friends who live in Vancouver mention shopping to Seattle. is it really that bad shopping in Vancouver? Please tell me they are all exagerating
otherwise i have to shop like hell this summer before going there :P
