Hi and welcome to BE.
Spend some time reading through the Wikki and past threads/posts - it will be time well spent while you wait out the 5+ years.
You may also want to investigate getting a job with work permit (and LMO if needed) to make the move sooner.
Best of luck in your quest for a new adventure.
Rob.

2 Rob,
cheers for info, I'am trying for jobs with LMO/offer for getting job sponsor which will cut waiting to 6 months, or PNP if possible,
I'am considering IT programming, because apparantly they don't need a LMO from HRDC,
Just trying every position on job bank and monster at the moment, with limited success.

Have you considered going out with BUNAC? You could be there in a few months.

When we put our papers in it was supposed to take 18 months max but because the points dropped a lot of those who did not qualify before put theirs in and the High Commission was swamped with applicants, so ours took about 3 years (through the Trinidad office as I am originally from T'dad but live in the UK now). When we heard the revised waiting period we were disheartened especially as we sold our house ready to go. But the wait is worth it when you receive that acceptance letter.
