Hi cbrown,, firstly better apologize to clare francis for hijacking post..!! Old helensburger..!! had many a good time there and down in Rhu... I was a firefighter for 20 years... also like a lot of other firemen, always been in renovation, construction etc,,, recently completed degree in sustainable building tech,,, so something in const' management is what the ideal would be,,, for now,,, anything with a proper wage that'll cover rent..! to get started.. to answer madscots,, we came to Peterborough, Ontario, as this is where my wife's family are originally from..!1 unfortunately , there is no work ,, so Calgary it has to be...? think i'll start a new post here or clare francis will kill me..!

I used to like fishing at Rhu lighthouse when the tide was out
Living in Edmonton, work with one other Scotsman, but he's a lazy bugger, and full of himself(from Snydebank)
From Beith Ayrshire myself, loving it up in Edmonton.

Rhu spit is very popular with fishermen, it used to be shallow enough to herd cows over....
Work wise in Calgary O&G is going through the crap part of the cycle. Construction wise though it is still booming, my girlfriends dad owns a drywall and stucco business and he says it is going flat out for now...
