Default Schools in Ontario

Does anybody have any advice on the best state primary and secondary schools in either the Peterborough or Belleville areas, including places like Port Hope, Lindsay, Trenton and Coburg? Many thanks

You are describing a very large area. Some member from each area may be along to give you some info, but I doubt any one person has all the info.

yes that is true - but any anecdotal reports are welcome for us at this very early stage - are there any schools that parents are satisfied or otherwise with?

When you get here you'll see why that is an impossible question. But I'd be very surprised if there are any schools in those areas/regions which would be less than completely satisfactory.

All schools/children in Ontario participate in provincial assessment called Eqao at the ages of 3,6,9,10. Although it is not as good as a personnel recommendation, at least it will give you an idea how well the school/children have perform over the years.

The site is www.eqao.com. It list all the schools and their results and compares them to the provincial standard.

I believe most if not all schools in Peterborough and Belleville will come under Kawartha District School Board (Peterborough)and Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board(Belleville).

Hopefully this will give you a starting point.
