I dont have a problem with bacon, but then I prefer the local stuff. Good sausages need to be tracked down though...depending on taste.
Then again when french toast, pancakes ,maple syrup, fresh orange juice and good coffee is a staple, who cares about the bacon or sausages.

For those in BC, Save On Foods have now started to make and sell "English Bangers" on the meat section and have always sold European bacon (just the round bit) on the Deli. I am reliably informed by the non-veggie bloke that the new bangers are rather good.

And Choices 'Sweet Italian' sausages are lovely - kind of like Tesco's finest

I was under the impression that just the round bit basically the same as "canadian" back bacon anyway. Not très européen.

If anyone in and around Regina wants proper English bacon - the whole thing with the round bit and the long bit attached - and English bangers, my husband makes and sells both in his butcher shop on Winnipeg Street.

Does he make Lorne (square) sausage as well? Oh, and plain bread. The stuff we call 'Square' bread in Scotland.
Mind you, we seem to name all our heart-killing foods square something or other. There's a meaning in that.....somewhere
I'd just settle for a bowl of weetabix and two pancakes the size of a table top. By the time we get settled in this August, we'll be lucky to afford a Timbit between us.
