Default RRSP question

Hi,

If I work in the US while the family lives her, I would need to file income taxe in Ontario. Would I be eligible to contribute to RRSPs based on my income outside Canada? I mean if I am paying income tax in Canada would I get a chance to save taxes through my RRSP.

Thanks

If you are tax-resident in Canada then you need to file an income tax return here. If you are tax-resident in Canada you can have an RRSP and deduct contributions within your contribution room from taxable income regardless of where that taxable income was earned.
