Picture this.
We get our PR status and move to canada where I was the principal applicant and my spouse as dependent.
Now my wife needs to return to the US for studying whereas I continue to be in Canada.
Will that be considered as abandoning PR for my wife and will she be in danger of losing her PR status?
Also, typically for how long is a PR visa granted, meaning, once a PR is approved, how long does one have to LAND.
In scenario 2.
If We both land in Canada, but she continues to be in canada where as I come to US for a job, are both at risk of losing PR or only me?
thanks

Under the current law your wife will be able to obtain RRP as studying abroad is a
valid reason for such. On the other hand leaving Canada to work for foreign employer
abroad is not a valid reason for RRP.
Immigration visa is valid for up to 12 months from medicals or less if passports
expire sooner. You must land before the expiration of visas.
