Police Clearance/Report from the US

Dear All:
I am in a serious time constraint/dilema here(Our medicals will soon expire, in just 60 days). I am told that my spouse should produce another police clearance/report from the US, since she has been in the US for about one year as a student. I am just trying to find out how long it takes for the police clearance/report to become available in the Southwest United States. Any personal experiences, we could take away here. Thanks for your usual support. Bob

Disclaimer: this is my own experience and opinion, I am not an expert at this
issue...

We sent a request to FBI get a police certificate in late 2000, and got them back in
about 20 days. (first you need to get your finger print card through your local
police station, of course. The address of the FBI service center is printed in your
immigration guide.
And BTW, 60 days is very very tight for you, act as soon as possible! If you are very
lucky, you probably can receive the LP before the medical expiration, but will have
only a couple of days before landing...
Hope this infomation helps.

Just checking to confirm which of the FBI offices you sent your request to. Or it doesn't matter. Thanks. Bob

As far as i can recall , there is one FBI office mentioned on the CIC application package and thats where you send your papers for clearance.
