The trick to buying beer in an English pub is to buy a pint, drink 3/4 of it and then get them to put a half in it, unless its one of those Beefeater type places, they'll fill it up to the top. After about five pints you sort of get one for free.

Hi
article on current UK price of beer. http://www.caterersearch.com/Article...land-tops.html average price £3.01 we buy chese bulk at costco and freeze it. In the end it's 'swings and roundabouts', the price of beef and salmon in canada is amazing, so cheap.. in my it opinion more than compensates for the beer and cheese. cheers jerry |

Was back in the UK in Sept and a pint did average out at around 3 quid. However, I did have a pint in Wetherspoons for 1.20 pounds !! Prices vary much more than here where provincial gvt monopolies, decide they should be the ones selling booze. Can get beers here for $5-6, but usually it's nearer $7,with a tip on top as well. Not even a proper pint either (i.e. less).
