Hi Nikkie dreaming
Wonderful news!! - all the best for your trip
Did the company you used for writing up your resume add or do anything that you wouldn't have done yourself?
- I'm just wondering whether using a service such as this is worth paying for, especially as they are a UK firm and may be not so familiar with the Canadian style resume.
Thanks

To be honest it wasn't so much the Canadian side that I instructed them for, it was to put the whole thing together, they did mine and hubby's.
Neither of us have ever drawn up a CV so it was starting from scratch and as we had no experience of doing this we decided to get somebody to do it. We gave them pointers from the wiki re changes that would need to be made for it to be in Canadian style.
To be honest if you have one already or don't mind doing it yourself then this would be fine and you can make the canadian amendments yourself.
That said it wasn't a huge amount of money and we had it back within the week on hard copy, email and CD so we can make any amendments in the future ourselves. I found some others would not give you a cd or email copy so if you ever wanted to change anything you had to go back to them and pay for the amendment!!
Cheers!

Hi Rubie
I'd just like to add that me and OH managed to compose his resume ourselves, getting advice from people off this site and also the ever invaluable Wiki. We then emailed it off to various companies 4 days ago.
Apart from the standard few replies acknowledging our email we actually got a reply today saying they are interested!!
Just goes to show that we must have done something right, so you don't always need a professional!
