Resume Replies!!

Hi everyone,

After about 3 weeks of getting our resume's drawn up by a company that specialises in this, I sent them off on Sunday night and both myself and other half have each received a reply to meet people for an informal meeting whilst over on our recce in May!!

Really pleased as wasn't really hoping to get anything back, so here's hoping we might get another one back before we go!! If not we will be trawling all through NS dropping in on places to hand them in. (will be looking to do this anyway!)

Feels as if things are starting to happen now which is really exciting!

Any tips that you can provide re meeting perspective employers on an informal basis greatly appreciated ( hubby print trade and I am in Motor Insurance claims/investigation)

:D

Thank you for replies!

I found the Wiki article on resume's really useful, for the finer points of what we needed to have in there etc.

Yippee! Great news and good work! That is half the battle isnt it. I can see you guys are going to be busy when you are over here

I am sure there is a thread somewhere with this in, but what jobs are you looking for and where are you thinking of living? I guess it all rather depends on where the job is right?

Well good luck!

Hi, Can I ask which company you used? We were looking at getting this done in advance of a recce trip to Calgary in May.

Hi

We used

http://www.jlcs.co.uk

They were excellent, 7 day turnaround although you can pay more and get it done in 3 days.

If you would like any more info send me a PM

Hi Poppy2,

Hubby is a Print Finisher and I work in Motor Insurance Claims.

As far as where we want to live, it will depend on job situation. There looks to be so many lovely area's though and we would prefer rural but amenities close by( does this sound idealistic!!)We are hoping to do lots of driving while on recce to get a feel of NS and all it has to offer.

Thank you everybody for replies,

one maybe weird question?? Should we dress "informal/smart" or all out smart, don't want to come across that we are treating it as an interview when it is only "informal", but on the other hand do you think employers would expect smart dress code?

Thanks:thumbsup:

Hi

We are over to NS next week for our recce, and I have just received another reply through for a company that would like to meet me whilst I am over!!!

I'm really pleased and keeping everything crossed that something comes off!

House is on the market so will see if anything positive happens there though I doubt it!!, they reckon interest rates may drop next month, lets hope!!!
:D
