Default Resume question

I am currently changing my resume to fit the Canadian expectation (thanks for the info in the wiki peeps!), and have a question that I hope someone may have some helpful guidance on.

My career is in gas distribution, and for the large part was with British Gas. I have always done a chronological type cv here, and see no reason to change this style. However, I took a break in career and travelled the world for a year - usually I show this as a single line in the 'professional experience' order (mainly to show there is continuity of my career path with no gap). My question is, should I still show this for my Canadian resume? Or should I omit the information?

Thanks in anticipation of several mind bending comments I'm sure lol

Id skip it, its not relevant to your ability to do the job. Hard enough to keep a resume down to two pages as it is.
