Arrow Resort is the Last Resort

I'm thinking of visiting Canada for short holiday. I want to find out more by visiting. I don't want to go to a holiday resort, i want to see the real canada. I want to find out about employment, property and see if Canada is for me.

Can anyone give me some advice on how i should go about this?
Has anyone got any tales to tell about the first time they went to Canada and any advice?

What about renting a small van or motorhome. Then you can go into the visitors- info centre and plan for the next place every city has them. or take the greyhound bus......

Canada is a BIG COUNTRY so it depends how short your holiday is. For instance in one week you might be able to get a driving snapshot visit to Nova Scotia, P.E.I., Quebec City and Montreal. Leaves about another 2/3.

Van holiday sounds good but why not make it an extended stay by coming over on a work permit? that way you can come over, work and stay in house and get REAL feel for a place. However, remember each province is like a completely different country. Holiday is not long enough in my opinion.

If you come on workpermit you can keep your house in England (assuming you have one) and not make the mistake we did of selling up, spending most of the profits on getting out here, setting ourselves up and going back when we weren't happy with the move and now can;t afford to buy anything even though we have moved further north!!!!
