Smile Resident of.....Canada?

Morning all,

I have a bit of an issue with some insurance planning.

I am coming over to Canada on a 1 year working visa from BUNAC in November.

I have my 365 insurance from a british company that covers me for baggage, travil money etc etc. HOWEVER I will be doing some snowboarding while over there. I could add winter sports cover to my UK premium but this would cover me for the year thats not what I want to do because its expensive.

What I have found is insurance in Canada for the 3 months I would be snowboarding from a Canadian company but it asks am I a resident of Canada? Would I be a resident when I am over there for the year? I'm residing in Canada so I would think so but I just dont want to land the wrong side of the policy and end up with a huge bill if things go a bit wrong on the mountain. I'm not looking for it to cover anything other than if I have a spill on the mountain because my UK premium really is pretty good.

Cheers,

Tom

Will the insurance include medical repatriation to the U.K.?

Does it assume you are eligible for provincial healthcare in Canada?

If the answers to the questions are "no" then it's probably not for you.
