Hi - having a bad day here.

I'm in the process of getting back to Canada and as I sit here thinking about all the shit I have to do it terrifies the crap out of me.

I know I want to go back as it was never my plan to stay here in England anyway (that's why I complicated my life further by buying a house here ). TBH, being here is grinding me down and badly. But for a variety of reasons I can't return to Victoria so I've an alternative destination in mind - one that makes me really wonder what the little hamsters do in my head when they're not running in their wheels.

I've been up since 3am and have done SFA cos everything just seems overwhelming. I know other people must get freaked out by the process of migrating... how do you cope paralysing anxiety? I feel like I've turned into such a phucking spineless weenie.

Please, can someone give me a firm hard kick up the ass?

You know what your objective is so do everything you possibly can and then get sh1t faced like the rest of us. There are worse things happening out there, some poor wee footballer got a hang-nail and may miss the world cup, now that's serious.

Seriously though, we all have bad days. I'd write a list and tick things off as I do them. If you take it one step at a time, it won't seem so bad It's alway worse when you're awake at night, it seems endless. The thoughts and senarios race through your brain.

the one that sticks in my mind is the hit and run of a 10 or 11 year old girl, knocked down and lying in the road with a injured leg, she crawled herself of the road, meanwhile six passing cars drove around her ...

Last night, when riding on the streetcar, I saw a young man laying by the side of the road, beside him there were pools of blood and vomit. Downtown I step over people in that state most days but he was smartly dressed and in a reasonably good part of town. He was at a tram stop and it was rush hour so a crowd flowed around and over him to board the tram. He'd gone this morning but by what means I don't know. If you want "horrors of the city" stories you can find them anywhere.

That doesn't surprise me at all. If any man goes near a 10 year old girl these days, he risks being accused of being a pedophile... which is about the worst thing you can be accused of in the UK.

Just look at that girl who drowned a while back: the last person who saw her alive said he thought about asking her what she was doing but didn't want to risk having his life destroyed if someone reported him to the police for doing so. So he walked away and she died.

One swift cyber kick up the back side from me and straight to the bar she heads, will she make it? oh it's going to be close, straight ahead she flies and would you beleive it, lands right on her favourite seat with a stiff large one just waiting to be drank.
