Our medicals were sent to London about 4-5 weeks ago, i think this has been the worst period of all the application stages, but with any luck it shouldn`t be too long now. Right now i can get a one way flight from Glasgow to Toronto for £79, amazing, an onward flight to Winterpeg for $160 cad. I have friends in Kingston, ON, so i think i`ll visit them on the way through, i`ve never been to the East. Let me know how your planning is going.....billy

Hiya - yeah thankfully we managed to get accomodation sorted out in the end. 'Twas a trying time as loads of places turned us away due to the size of our dog but we found that one of the housing co-ops were happy to take her. It's South of Winnipeg close to schools, buses and shops so pretty good. We're due to arrive around the 22nd March. Just started the exciting things like getting the electric turned on (via Manitoba Hydro http://www.hydro.mb.ca) and phone (via Manitoba Telecom http://www.mts.mb.ca) When it comes to internet you can either go with MTS for their internet service or with Shaw http://www.shaw.ca who also do cable TV packages (BBC Kids and BBC Canada - wahayy!!). Most places have an online application form and I checked with the elec. people and they said we wouldn't need a deposit even though we're new to the area - cool!
