Remembrance Day is on Sunday.

Re: Remembrance Day is on Sunday.
Surely the point of having Nov 11th as a holiday is so you can attend a rememberance day service and pay tribute to the men and women who payed the ultimate sacrifice for your freedom, when Nov 11th falls on a weekend you do not need a day off in the week because the rememberance service will have been held on the 11th not the monday after.
Canada does a pretty good job of honouring its veterns, let's not try and make it like the UK where the Legion have been banned from selling poppies in many supermarkets etc in case they offend someone
Go to your local rememberance service and on Monday be glad that you can go to work in a free country thanks to those who gave all

+1
Thanks for the reminder.

So which colour of poppy do we wear?
The traditional red one or the white one?

Nowhere has any RBL poppy-seller been banned from selling poppies in a supermarket, for any reason. Apparently there was a breakdown in communication in one single Tesco Metro in Slough, which resulted in a poppy stall not being set up for a couple of days. Tesco apologised to the Legion and the poppy seller is now back in place.
There was also a situation in Birmingham last year where poorly-worded licensing bylaws made it difficult for the Legion to set up stands in the city centre. That, too, was resolved quickly, in mid-September, well before Remembrance Day.

None. I can give thoughts, remembrance and thanks without wearing a token.

Re: Remembrance Day is on Sunday.
Not many people wearing poppies this year in Toronto....on the subway this morning I saw about 4 out of 30 in the area I was standing in. That's 3 more than yesterday when I was the only one. Poor show in my mind.
I certainly hope everyone remembers on Sunday, has their own two minute silence and chips in the odd buck to the Legion to not show their support with a token.
I'm glad it's on a weekend this year - it means I get to attend a parade.
