Hello there,

You asked about scenery, i know its not quite vancouver, but how about this today? This is a pic of my bank this evening covered in snow. I know its not quite Vancouver, but you've got to love it.

We've got all the things you listed there as what you like, west of TO where i live. The school is right in the new subdivision where i live, there is a catholic one, and another public. We also have a very good university.

If that is supposed to be Toronto tonight then there shouldn't be that much snow at all...there are only piles in car parks and that is it. There has been a light shower of snow in the past few hours and that is it.

Hello there,

Jeanie...do you realise you just replied to your own post there? Now that is cabin pressure setting in

That pic is from downtown where my office is, 45mins west of Toronto. What you guys have in Halifax, is scarier than this, as pictures on TV shows :scared: :scared:

Is your office in Kitchener (downtown)? What street is that? Looks a few blocks west of King Street. Am I right?

No ! That is downtown Mississauga, i took that picture yesterday after work on my pocket sized digital cam that follows me everywhere, and i live just about 25-30 mins from there.

The previous person said it looks like Barrington street in Halifax, i guess most of these downtowns do look the same, unless you are living in the boonies

Hi there, you certainly wont be dissapointed by the sceanery if you move to Vancouver Island, as for where to settle thats a tough one.

I have visited most of the places on the island that you suggest but can only really tell you about the area where I live, which is on the South west tip of vancouver island called Sidney by the sea.

The town has the usual array of banks , bookstores, cinema, restaurants, parks, recreation centre (10 mins away), marina, etc.

There is a great sense of community here unlike where I used to live in the Uk. Hardly any crime, streets really clean, propery can be pricey, for $300000 you can get a really nice house.

The ferry terminal is about 10 mins away up the Pat bay so not far to go if you want to go to Vancouver.

Lots of watersports here, canoeing, boating, fishing. Takes about 30 mins to get downtown victoria and all the attractions that it has to offer such as greater array of pubs, theatres etc.

If you like biking then you will love it here, we have the gallopping goose trail here that spans the island, with great trails to enjoy. The beaches are great, nice and clean and safe for swimming.

The west coast of the island is about 1 hour away and is pretty wild and rugged and empty. If you want to see bears than thats the place to go.

As for the other places, campbell river, very touristville, the same for comox, although you are near Mount Washington there, Parksville and Ladysmith, not a great deal there, nice beaches though.

Nanimo is similar to Victoria and has a lot of the same opportunities there, the house prices are also a lot cheaper, although I was told they have a higher crime rate there.

Hope this helps

Wow all that snow I don’t think I would want to shovel that for 5 / 6 months of the year and probably to humid in the summer for me. Do you get much snow in Okanogan area and what are the summers like?

Spongebob might put Sidney by the sea on my list for April you put a good case for it have you been there long

Oh, so that's why you don't post where you live below your avatar, you are concerned about stalkers! Now that's funny.
