All this talk of credit unions has got me wondering about considering them instead of one of the big banks!
Has anyone got any personal experience of banking with Vancity?

TD canada trust.
I would suggest you get a free print out of your equifax before you come over and give this to them when asking for a visa card.Equifax do a 30 day money back trial.
The "td" staff at your local branch have the power to overide any dicision made at head office.
It all worked fine for me.

I personally hate the very thought of paying a bank my own money for the privilege of having a place to store it....so I use President's Choice Financial. It's completey free, no service charges at all...but it's a third party bank, so you won't be getting teller services, only ABMs. They work through CIBC
