Hello,
My boyfriend and I are looking to move to Canada in the near future and i'm currently in the process of arranging a trip to Moncton (and surrounding areas) New Brunswick and i'm not quite sure where to start!
Is there anything that anybody can recommend that we do when we come out for a trip. We're thinking of staying for between 2-3 weeks. When is the best time of year to visit? Best place to stay?
Any information or ideas will be gratefully received!!
Thanks in advance
Katie

Hi there, its not that I havent looked, believe me I have (we've been looking into emigrating for the past 18 months), but was just looking for suggestions of what other people have done when out there.

You could try to find a summer rental in Shediac - it's about a 20 minute drive and right on the coast.
Word of warning - the quality of the rentals can range from very good or very bad, and the owners are not always realistic
(either price or description).

Hi, My OH and I moved here a couple of months ago and really love it. We flew into Halifax and hired a car to start with - its a very easy drive and you will wonder where is everyone! The highways here are empty by UK motorway standards (Im Lorry driver and have to keep pinching myself
)
There are plenty of hotels in the centre of Moncton and various motels around town, if you want something a bit more rural then Shediac is very nice but I think it could get busy in the summer. Its about 15 min drive and again is really simple
Moncton is a nice city that has most things you could want however if you are used to big city life you might find it a bit slow and not the wide choice of restaurants etc - there are plenty here but not the range of the more exotic. There are a couple of nice pubs downtown but the nightlife is a bit limited but again it depends on what you are used to.
If there is anything in particular that you want to know then feel free

Take a day trip to Fredericton! I've heard magnetic hill is fun to visit, it's one of those places where your car appears to roll up the hill instead of down

Spent 3 years in Moncton/Riverview....never went to Magnetic Hill. My loss I guess but never saw the appeal. Waterpark is ok.

Been in Moncton since 2005 and never done Magnetic Hill.
What Alex said is pretty accurate. There's the airport for flying to other places in Canada and a couple of others. Plenty of flight deals every so often if you don't fancy a long drive.

Thank you so much for all of your suggestions! At the moment i'm putting an itinerary together so we get as much as we can packed into the time we're there.
Thanks again
