Default realistically doing UK postal voting from abroad??

Is there any realistic way to do UK postal votes when living outside of the UK? If they send it only a week before the election, it is (in most places) unlikely that the ballot will even arrive before the vote is due.

Voting by post

Once you have registered to vote, you can apply to vote by post at elections. Postal votes can be sent out to addresses in the UK and abroad.

When an election is going to be held, your ballot paper will be sent to you in the post about a week before election day. Make sure you return your postal vote by election day, otherwise it will not be counted.

Why would you want to vote anyway? It won't affect you? Or maybe you wish to try and inflict more pain on those left behind??

Well Britain has a government which far outstretches beyond it's own borders so I think if you can vote then you probably should.

I still don't though.

Unless you're planning a trip to England for the election, the only realistic option is to vote by proxy (ie: have someone else vote on your behalf).
