Strange, my Canadian colleagues wished happy holidays as did a few clients and other companies. I had it regularly when out shopping too and also noticed it on tv. My wife's company requested employees say holidays instead of Christmas.
I guess Vancouver could be different from wherever you are though. I say happy Christmas btw but don't really care what people decide to use. I would imagine the number of Canadian residents who are fanatical Muslims wanting huge changes is negligible in the larger scheme of things and will remain so at least in my lifetime. Don't believe everything you read in the media. It's not good for you. Interesting how Muslims are always thought of as fanatical weirdos. I had Muslim mates back in london, and they and their families were top people. I've also met Muslims in Canada and I couldn't like them more. Its sad how the American media propaganda is a terribly effective weapon to indoctrinate people, they are always looking for reasons to invade foreign "evil" countries and "evil" cultures for their own gain, yet sell the idea of being the world's savour. never had to say happy holidays instead of merry xmas here. All employers I've had so far have had Christmas parties...in fact our Christmas party last year was organized by a Muslim, haha. FWIW kid's public school also has a christmas concert. My experience is the whole PC you can't say christmas myth is just that, a myth.

My Canadian colleagues went with Happy holidays. Same at my wifes company. Possibly due to their American influence. It's all dependant on the company, type of business, etc. The Whole foods check-out staff were the first to wish me a Happy Holiday. I remember because it made me smile. Overall, there is no difference whatsoever in the most part |

Why are we arguing about muslin ideals v’s Christian holidays, this isn’t racism, for starters most of the holidays listed weren’t even Christian to start with, and so what if we make a more generic name for something that has more in common with high volume shopping than its token religious roots now?
