I thoroughly suspect the op is a wind up merchant, but I would concur that a polar cat would be the way to go. The further north you are you see the breed retain more of its bear like features.
I also don't think Kiwi ever suggested killing your cats. Maybe just put them in a box outside the vets the morning you leave or something?

I have some questions that some of you who have "been-there'done-that" might be able to help me with. Much appreciated.
(1) Do many people speak english in Ottawa? Or is it totally French?
(2) Can I buy oranges and other 'sunny' fruits in Ottawa in the winter? And if so, how much would a large orange (navel) be?
(3) Is the TV in Ottawa exactly the same as the TV in England? Or do they have their own TV programs just for Canadians?
(4) Do cats like living in Ottawa in the winter? Or do they basically freeze to death if they have to go outside for more than 10 minutes?
