Default Pregnant while on LMO?

Hey folks, what would realistically happen if I got pregnant after a few months on a work permit? Would it be likely I'd be made redundant with some excuse? So my permanent residence application would be null and void? Then what, no job and no chance of another one = having to move back to England while pregnant???

Always protect yourself.

Seriously, would depend on your employer. You would have implied status whilst looking for work ( looking to be corrected by someone ) so technically your submitted PR application would continue in the background...... I think.

I think cold showers and a great deal of care are the order of the day.

Of course, once you have your PR ...

Well, I'm 35 now and if I have to wait until PR comes through, it will be too late.

Doesn't PR take about a year these days ?

Two, and I think the PR app is null & void if you get made redundant. So you have to start over again. Don't know for sure tho.

Employers cannot lay off due to pregnancy or not hire for this reason. Problem is you would have to prove this was the reason. Under three months of employment they don't need a reason to lay off.

Decision time I guess, which is most important?

Don't panic about your age - I've had loads of advice and contact with docs about this. Your body doesn't suddenly think "I'm 35 time for everything to go downhill". If your cycles are regular then try not to worry.

You could go for blood tests to check your FSH levels (hormone that kick starts your cycle each month and is responsible for ovulation) and if that's ok you will be fine. You could also get your progesterone levels checked for reassurance.

If you want to discuss further PM me if you like. What I don't know about this isn't worth knowing

I agree with geordi lass, get your fsh tested. if you are still ovulating you would probably be better served waiting a while. Have you checked the updated PR timeline in your area, they just changed them.
In BC it's 9-11 months from start to finish.
Maybe give it 6 months then start trying, when you can estimate approx 6 months till it's thru, by which time you would be in a better place.
It's possible to get pregnant right up till you menopause.

That said, at 33 it took me 3 years and several losses to finally have my third child. (now smooshing jam into the carpet lol) don't miss your window because it's not a given, it's a privilege.
