Hi all -
I have a quick question, it may have been answered elsewhere so apologies if this is the case.
We landed in Toronto in August and to date only my wife and daughter have received their PR cards (mid October), however mine has not turned up, is this the norm or do I panic and if so who to
I have tried calling the CIC number in Nova Scotia (most of this morning in fact) with the nice automated lady saying the office is closed and to please call during office hours, despite me trying 8am-11am Toronto time (so I have no idea what office hours are or what the office is doing), so no clarity their.
The reason for the mad panic is that we are in the process of buying flights back to the UK for Xmas.
What do I do any suggestions?

Technically it's referred to as the mid term break but it's always the closest weekend to the 11th

Hi -
I had the same issue. Everyone’s turned up except mine. We went back to the UK and returned to Toronto without a problem. When we went thru passport control, I told the officer that I did not have my PR card and he sent me to the immigration office. A very nice lady there looked up on her system and advised that they had all been sent but mine had been sent a day after everyone else’s - and it must have been lost in the post (not unusual apparently!!).
She then gave me a number for the office in NS. I called them and explained the situation and the lady there arranged it all for me. She sent me a form to sign, and within 2 weeks my new card arrived. I had been told by the IO at Toronto airport that it could take up to 7 weeks and I may be charged, but I had no problem, and it was free. Apparently you also have to ability to fast-track the process if you have a flight booked.
Good Luck

Schools are off here too which is lovely - I live opposite one and have actually been able to get out of my driveway in a morning!

Thanks for this - very very helpful

Puts my mind at ease, I kind of thought so long as I was in the system it should be okay.
Many thanks for this
