Welcome to Canada !!!
We landed 22 October, my son's card arrived after 39 days. (However, it took another 23 days to tell the rest of us that our photos weren't any good!)

Think I am cutting it fine getting my PR card in time, currently processing time 217 days, processing July 15, 2010 applications.

Has anyone else mailed a second application with “Urgent – Travel documents enclosed” lately?

Any idea how long it would take to process an urgent application and when I would be best to mail it?

Maybe I am just being paranoid, but don’t want anything to go wrong, first time that I will be going back in 6 years.

Thanks for your help.

There really doesn't seem to be any method to the madness that's CIC.
our son sent proof of his ticket purchase to them and got his new pr card within 10 days of making second urgent application.
My husband needed his to go to a conference in Spain, sent copies of his ticket only to be told his would be ready to collect 3 weeks after he got back
I leave for France next week, sent in proof of ticket purchase 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing.
We all applied to renew our pr cards in May - they expired in December 2010.
My OH still left for his trip, just took his old pr card with him. The biggest problem was on the way back, convincing the airline he was legally entitled to get back into Canada. If mine doesn't come through before I leave, I will do the same.
If you have copies of your tickets I'd just send them in now and you shouldn't have any problems getting your new pr card in time,

Thanks Val

It is very difficult to know what to do. Processing time is decreasing according to the website, but I could check in a month time and find that it has gone up again.

It is the getting back part that I am worried about, did your husband take his expired PR card and IMM5292 with him? After all it this is your original confirmation of permanent residence and you get this when you land, before you even receive your PR card.

I will make an urgent application, surely this can't take longer then 6 month to process.

What did your son sent as proof of travel? I have got my booking confirmation but am wondering if it is best to include a copy of the credit card statement showing payment as well.

Fingers crossed that you receive your card in time.

Ang

Hi Ang
my son just faxed them a copy of his plane ticket and a copy of the receipt from the couriers for his original application for pr renewal. I am sure your booking confirmation, as long as it has all the flight details on it, will be enough for them.
My husband took his expired pr card and a copy of his IMM5292. His main problem was with the airline on the way back, but luckily he found someone helpful at the airport and they let him on the flight. Immigration here in Halifax wasn't a problem as they had him in the system and could see he'd made an application to renew.
I'm not bothered if mine doesn't arrive before I leave. I will go to the embassy in Paris if it doesn't and see if I can get from them.
Good luck with your application

Me and my wife landed in Vancouver on the 30th June 2011 as immigrants through the federal skilled worker scheme. However till date, we have not received our PR cards. I provided to the IO my sister in laws mailing address who resides in Calgary during the landing process but nothing has come through the post. Since then I have had to return back to my home country. Is there a delay?
