Default PR card not arrived

Hi
My family and I arrived in Cagary airport in Feb this year to activate our visas. We gave a friend's address in BC for the cards to be mailed to as we are not able to leave the UK yet and plan to move to Canada next summer.

However, our PR cards still haven't arrived. We haven't been given details of an office to contact in such circumstances. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know who we should contact to see if the cards have been issued yet?

I had a similar issue, here is a thread I started about it ...
http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=583041

There is a telephone number within the above thread, though I never actually got round to calling it. Once I realized that even if the PR cards arrived with our friend it wouldn't help us get back into the Canada I started looking into how we could obtain travel documents instead. I was planning to give them a call when we were back in Canada but in early March our PR cards arrived at our friends (5 months after we landed), so I didn't have to chase them up in the end. I've no idea why they took so long, I've not heard of others waiting anywhere near that length of time.

I landed in March and mine hasn't turned up at the FIL's yet. I'm not too worried, if need be I'll pay the $50 to apply when I return.

Phew! Thanks for the reassurance. I was getting worried that something was wrong but I guess it's just down to backlog! I have noted down the number of the call centre but will wait for a while longer before I contact them.
Thanks again

Hi I had this problem only a few weeks ago. I got the inlaws to ring the contact centre in Canada and they told us to fax the address again with an explanation to the following numbers. I think I used the general one but it wouldn`t do you any harm to send the info to both. Within 2 wks it was delievered to the address in Canada.

Fax
General: 902-564-3148
Change of Address: 902-564-7317

Good Luck.

Hello Helen,

Quick question. Why did you state that "Once I realized that even if the PR cards arrived with our friend it wouldn't help us get back into the Canada ..."
I thought your PR card could be sent by your friend to the UK by DHL or any courier. Please comment.

Hi we also landed in Calgary in February - Only one out of three cards turned up so far - Have faxed the number to chase but no response as yet !
As you can not call the call centre whilst out of Canada !

We also plan to move out early to mid next year - Good luck
