Default possible health issues

Hi folks
My wife was taken into hospital today for test due to high blood pressure
The doc thinks maybe its hereditary and she may needs tablets for the rest of her life
Basically we were wondering if that if she does would this pose an issue with us getting into Canada?

has any one on here had a similar issue?

thanx

Among other health issues I have high blood pressure, well controlled on medication and I got through my medical, so don't worry there shouldn't be a problem.
As for your wife, it's better to know that you have high blood pressure and get treatment for it, than to walk round completely unaware that you have it.
All the very best

One thing you need to consider is the cost of the drugs. Unless you have some sort of group extended health coverage (usually through work) you have to pay market price for prescription drugs in Canada.

What has already been said is true.

It's just not that easy to get it under control though. I had to give up alcohol, coffee, tea, fatty food and, IMO, all the good food stuff in life to get mine under control, and also take 3 pills a day. + exercise.

I did it though and mine was proper up there, found out during a PPL med, your BP is a bit high, 180/110

I contribute my high blood pressure to the work environment in the UK, (loads of travel, traffic jams, my job and weeks away from the family sleeping in Travel Lodges down souf) and partly hereditary.

Since our move to Canada my blood pressure has leveled out below 140/90. I take just one pill here and eat what i want, within reason, and my drinking has all but stopped.

Get a blood pressure monitor and check it as you progress. This helped me monitor my progress. Was i scared when i went for my medical, ha, you bet, shittin myself, no pressure ehh, just my future, and i was dead on 140/90. Passed. Phew !!

Good luck with it.....
