I am posting off our police check forms tomorrow.
Is it best to send them recorded delivery?
Also I think I read on here lasy week that they seem to have a bit of a back log. Dont know if anyone can shed any light on this.

Hi
Don't know what the normal timescale is for the return of the police check but my OH sent his form off on Feb 12th and it was received on the 13th. OH rang up today to see what the score was and the man from the ACPO said it had been actioned today and will now be in the post. That makes it about 12 working days.
I sent the form by Special Delivery I think....it was either that or Recorded...whichever the one is that can be tracked online as we wanted to check it had been received.

There's an option to have a standard service £35 (10 working days) and premium service £70 (2 working days) excludes days of receipt and dispatch.
We have sent ours via premium service today and via special delivery.

With hindsight, I wish we had just paid for the premium service too as it definately is not 10 working days for the standard service, well not at the moment anyway.

I had to get a criminal check a few weeks ago for a job here in Ireland. I couldnt get over how helpful they were when i rang Scotland Yard. It was turned around in 2 weeks.

Received the certificate in this mornings post so in total it has been 19 days since posting the form off and that includes the weekends.
