Dear Mr. Miller,
Kindly help. Our situation was explained to you before also but there was no reply from you, kindly reply at the earliest !
we completed our medicals and the same has been sent to Chc london along with the medicals they also asked for the current dated pcc from the countries we lived in. we had submitted these at the time of application. however of one country we have applied and the same is in the process.
The problem we cannot get Indian PCC as to get it we need our passport and the passports are with our employer in the gulf. its very difficult to reveal the truth that we need our passport for visa purpose, our jobs will be at immediate risk!
at this crucial point we really don't know what to do? we wrote two letters to CHC London already explaining the situation, we sent faxes but THERE IS NO REPLY! what should we do? please reply!

Your question was answered few times by me and others. First - you will need your
passports to get your PR visas anyway, so you better get them from your employer.
More - your passports are the property of India and cannot be held hostage by any
employer, although it is well known that some unscrupulous Gulf employers do that.
Second - there are ways to obtain police certificate from India without a passport
and majority of Indian applicants have no problems with obtaining such. Talk to
other Indian nationals who went through the same and get their advice. CHC London
should have replied to your faxes - if not then send another one and the same letter
by courier. If you won't comply with London's request and your explanation of
reasons is not accepted then your application may be refused, so instead of trying
to find for many already how avoid providing Indian PCC you should concentrate on
the task how to get one.

I suggest u do the folowing;
1.Aske ur relative in India to send a fax that some one close to u is seriously
ill.Take leave from ur employer and stay put there only ie in gulf and approach the
indian consulate and apply for pcc.You will get within a week or 10 days.OR come
back to India and aproach your local passport authorities. If u are from some
interior place/town ie NOT from metro city than approach ur nearest police atation
and ask for pcc. They will ask what for? DONT tell imigration just say required to
be shown to employer when u are going for interviews. That dope will say Ok what
should I write ?, u tell him that just mention that u stay at such n such place and
it comes under this police jurisdiction and there is no criminal record. He will
write and stamp and u promise him that once u get a job u will bring sweets for
him.Keep low profile and be docile.Rather he will tell u to draft the letter. But if
u are from mumbai/delhi/chennai/klkatta then yes I suggest u stay put in gulf and
apply from indian consulate.Though u will get from these above places but it is
time consuming. bl
