Ping Pong Poms - Canada vs NZ, Australia or UK

Re: Ping Pong Poms - Canada vs NZ, Australia or UK
We are eligible for the express entry skilled worker pool and would likely rank fairly highly, although obviously there is no defining pass-mark anymore. We can also get a work permit easily enough with an internal work transfer, due to niche skills as certain types of roles are already being regularly advertised globally due to a lack of local candidates with the required skills and experience. With 12 months 'Canadian experience' we'd also be eligible for the Canadian experience express entry pool.

Now to the Canadian sarcasm from me, no, call it my sense of humour
I gather that one or both of you have lived & worked in Canada previously, if that be correct, then all the questions in your OP & through the thread discussions have been for nort?
That you already knew most everything from being here in Canada in the past, that all of the Canadian housing points & comparisons to OZ & NZ (your whinge) you have that information or knowledge from other websites, community forums & your Canadian friends?
Was there anything that I or others have posted or provided in the last few pages or links that you weren't already aware of?

cough, splutter, choke ..... you are so polite at times
When the OP gets to Canada, its my opinion she will find the true north 'whinging poms' are alive & well here.
I get the impression that the Canadian forum is a lot different than the OZ. NZ or UK forums when it comes to w(h)ine & cheese - well at least we have 'hockey night in Canada' to fall back on if there isn't anything else to whinge about

Oh dear!! [note to self: must try harder]

Honestly? Absolutely no sarcasm: no, it didn't, sorry . You keep banging on about the shortfalls of NZ housing/building standards while other posters are trying to give pertinent info about GTA housing.
I could regale you with horror stories about CDN housing/building standards until my w(h)ine finishes "breathing" to room temperature, but it wouldn't be terribly relevant...

But surely it must have occurred to he OP that the solution to whine and cheese avoidance as well as the solution to quality, affordable housing is simple.
France.

That indeed is the solution. Canada is just going to be a cold version of Australia.

My commute in Toronto has been a twenty minute walk the last 4 years. I am lucky that I have the luxury of not needing much space to live in so can live downtown. One of the things that keeps me here.
Price of things is all relative to what work one finds.
The sad thing with Toronto is the lack of choice when one shops for cheese. No one has mentioned sausages and I find this troubling.

I think, indirectly and reading between the lines, that this individual is secretly trying to tell us that they don't have a decent Hooters like establishment in their neighbourhood and therefore it does not feel like home.

Molson Golden or Labatts Blue?
And what about the power outages that happen, or when the schools are closed due to inclement weather.
For as long as I have lived here, I cannot recall there being any forest fires or Tornadoes in the Toronto area - maybe in Barrie though.
