It is true I drove on my UK license for 2 years. My job involved me travelling overseas. I questioned ICBC numerous times and my insurance company. They said if I got pulled over by police or had an accident my passport must have a returning residence stamp stating my last date of entry being < 90 days making my license and insurance 100% valid. It is only after a continuous stay of 90 days in BC your license is no longer valid.
I got my bc license last week anyway due to change of jobs.
